There's a carnival going up across the highway. I've seen it for the past couple of mornings as I'm on my way to work. You have no idea how my heart lifts whenever I see the ferris wheel. I love carnivals and amusement parks. They make me feel like a kid again!
It wasn't that long ago when my idea of the best time ever! was going to an amusement park. I have to admit, I still get quite a charge out of them. I must be getting old, though, 'cause the rides are starting to scare me a bit. Those freefall-type ones where they lift you up high and drop you? Can't take 'em.
Loop-de-loops? Love 'em. Hanging suspended high above the ground? Thrilling. Going backwards at extremely high speeds? Where's the line? The stomach-churning, nauseating, if-I-make-it-out-of-this-alive-I'll-never-do-it-again-Lord freefall rides? Forget it. Not just no, but hell no.
The worst thing is, they're starting to put those freefalls in rollercoasters now, too. And i love rollercoasters! Aboslutely love 'em. Oh, well. I guess I'll have to stick to good 'ol wooden coasters. They're the best, anyway.
